How to Get to Disney Springs in 2026
There are five ways into Disney Springs, and a rule change in 2026 quietly redrew who can use which one. Here is every option, who it is for, and the one that almost always makes sense, plus a tool that finds your best way in from wherever you are starting.
Find your way in
Tell us where you're starting and we'll show the best way to reach Disney Springs, what it costs, and how long it takes.
Disney Springs is the one corner of Walt Disney World with no admission and no parking fee, which is exactly why getting there got a little more complicated in 2026. Disney now checks for a resort, dining, or recreation booking before you can ride a resort bus out of Disney Springs, a change rolling into place permanently around the July 4 holiday. The good news: the easiest way in, driving, is still free and open to everyone. Here is the full picture.
Every way to get to Disney Springs, compared
| Option | Who it is for | Cost | Trip time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Drive & park | Anyone, including day guests | Free | Door to door |
| Disney resort bus | Resort guests + verified diners | Free | 20–40 min |
| Sassagoula boat | Guests of 4 nearby resorts | Free | 20–30 min |
| Walk | Saratoga Springs guests | Free | 5–10 min |
| Rideshare / Minnie Van | Anyone | Paid | Varies |
By car: the free option anyone can use
For day guests and anyone who would rather not wait on a bus, driving is the simplest choice. Disney Springs has three multi-storey garages and several surface lots, and all of it is free, with no time limit and no charge to leave. The garages show live space counts on each level, so you rarely circle for long even on a busy night.
-
Head for Disney Springs, not a park
From anywhere on property or I-4, follow the signs for Disney Springs off Buena Vista Drive. You are not aiming for a theme park toll plaza, so there is no parking fee to pay on the way in.
-
Pull into one of the three garages
Orange, Lime, and Grapefruit are the three free parking garages. Orange is the largest and most central, exiting straight into Town Center between the West Side and The Landing.
-
Note your level, row, and garage color
The garages are huge and look alike inside. Snap a photo of the nearest level sign so you can find your car later. Each garage has digital counters showing open spaces by floor.
-
Walk straight in, no ticket needed
Take the elevators or escalators down into Disney Springs. There is no gate, no validation, and no charge on the way out. Surface lots near the Marketplace and West Side are free too when the garages fill.
Aim for the Orange Garage if you can. It is the biggest and dumps you straight into Town Center, a short stroll from both the West Side and The Landing.
By Disney bus: free, but now you need a booking
Disney runs buses between the resort hotels and Disney Springs throughout operating hours, ending about an hour after Disney Springs closes. They are free, and for resort guests they are the most relaxing way to arrive. The catch is the new checkpoint.
This only affects buses leaving Disney Springs for the resorts. It does not touch the free parking, and it does not stop anyone from visiting Disney Springs itself. If you are a resort guest heading over for dinner, nothing changes for you, just have your band or app handy on the way back.
By boat: the scenic route for four resorts
The Sassagoula River boats are the prettiest way in. They dock at the Marketplace, near Rainforest Cafe, and run roughly every 20 to 30 minutes during operating hours. The boat serves four resorts only:
- Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa
- Disney's Old Key West Resort
- Disney's Port Orleans Resort – Riverside
- Disney's Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter
If you are staying at one of these, the boat is usually nicer than the bus, and it drops you right at the heart of the Marketplace.
On foot: only from Saratoga Springs
Just one resort is within an easy walk. Guests at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort can stroll over in about 5 to 12 minutes on a dedicated, well-lit path that crosses into the Marketplace. It is flat, paved, and pleasant in the evening, the fastest trip of anyone on this list.
By rideshare or Minnie Van: drop me at the door
Uber, Lyft, and Disney's own Minnie Van service will take you straight to a Disney Springs entrance, which is handy if you are coming from a theme park (there is no direct bus for that) or a resort the boat does not serve. You pay for the ride, but you skip the parking walk and the bus checkpoint entirely. Designated rideshare and Minnie Van zones sit near the Marketplace on the east end and over on the West Side by Cirque du Soleil.
Coming from a theme park?
There is no direct Disney bus between the theme parks and Disney Springs. From a park you have three choices: drive your own car straight over and park for free, grab a rideshare or Minnie Van, or head back to your resort first and catch the resort bus or boat from there. Driving or rideshare is almost always faster than the double transfer through a resort.
Insider tips
Grab the Grapefruit garage when it's open
On busy evenings and weekends the Grapefruit garage opens to guests. It is far less congested than Orange or Lime, and its footbridge over Buena Vista Drive has a genuinely pretty view at golden hour.
Come Tuesday or Wednesday morning
Mornings before noon stay calm even on weekends, and Tuesday evening is the quietest evening of the week. On weekends, aim to arrive before 6pm for an easy parking spot.
Arrive after 7pm for the magic
Disney Springs is at its best after dark: live music, the waterfront lit up, and the sun going down over Village Lake.
Take the boat if you can
From Saratoga Springs, Old Key West, or either Port Orleans, the Sassagoula water taxi drops you right at the Marketplace dock. It is far nicer than driving and parking.
Ride an Amphicar at The Boathouse
A restored 1960s Amphicar drives down a ramp straight into Village Lake on a 25-minute, captain-guided tour. It is the only experience of its kind anywhere.
Slip in the back way
Crossing the Grapefruit footbridge into the back of the Marketplace skips the main Town Center entrance crush on a busy night.
Frequently asked questions
- Is parking free at Disney Springs?
- Yes. Parking at Disney Springs is completely free for everyone, with no time limit. The three garages (Orange, Lime, and Grapefruit) plus the surface lots are all free, and there is no charge when you leave.
- Do you need a reservation to take the bus from Disney Springs to a resort?
- Yes, as of 2026 you do. To board a resort-bound bus at the Disney Springs bus loop you must show one of three things at the checkpoint: an active Walt Disney World resort hotel reservation, a confirmed dining reservation at a resort hotel, or a confirmed resort recreation booking. Cast Members verify it by scanning a MagicBand, the My Disney Experience app, or a Key to the World card. This check is becoming a permanent practice.
- Why did Disney add the bus verification?
- The check targets a long-standing workaround where day guests parked for free at Disney Springs and rode a resort bus to dodge theme-park parking fees. Verifying a resort, dining, or recreation booking keeps the resort buses for actual resort guests.
- Can day guests still go to Disney Springs without a car?
- Yes. Disney Springs itself is open to everyone and parking is free, so the simplest option for day guests is to drive. If you would rather not drive, rideshare and Minnie Van drop you right at the entrances. The bus and boat are for guests staying at (or dining and playing at) Disney resorts.
- Is there a boat to Disney Springs?
- Yes. Sassagoula River boats dock at the Marketplace near Rainforest Cafe and run roughly every 20 to 30 minutes during operating hours. They serve four resorts: Saratoga Springs, Old Key West, Port Orleans Riverside, and Port Orleans French Quarter.
- Can you walk to Disney Springs?
- Guests at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort can walk in about 5 to 12 minutes on a dedicated, well-lit path into the Marketplace. It is the only resort within a comfortable walk of Disney Springs.
- How do you get to Disney Springs from the theme parks?
- There is no direct bus between the theme parks and Disney Springs. From a park you either drive your own car, take a rideshare or Minnie Van, or return to your resort first and catch the resort bus or boat from there.
- When do the buses and boats stop running?
- Disney Springs transportation runs throughout operating hours and continues until about one hour after Disney Springs closes, so you have time to finish dinner or a movie before heading back.
