  1. Measure at home, in the shoes they will wear. Cast Members measure at the ride entrance with shoes on, and a child right on the line can measure differently at the next ride.
  2. Ask for Rider Switch at rides with a height requirement. Disney offers it at most of them. One adult rides, the other waits with your child, then up to two of the waiting party board through the return entrance.
  3. Two rides have a second number. Autopia drivers need 54 inches to drive alone, and Silly Symphony Swings riders need 48 inches for a single swing.

Autopia needs 32 inches to ride. To drive alone a guest must be 54 inches. Shorter drivers share a car with someone at least 54 inches tall.

How does Rider Switch work at Disneyland?

Disney offers Rider Switch at most rides with a height requirement. One adult rides while the other waits with the child. A Cast Member scans the waiting party's tickets, and up to two of them then board through the return entrance without waiting in the standby line.

Can a young child ride alone at Disneyland?

Children under 7 must ride with someone age 14 or older, whatever their height.
