Original Nickelodeon Studios Blueprints From Universal Orlando Are Turning Up on eBay

Original GUTS III stage floor plan from Nickelodeon Studios

For fifteen years there was a soundstage at Universal Studios Florida where the floors were built to be hosed down. That was Nickelodeon Studios, the studio where a generation of kids watched other kids get slimed and where the network taped much of its game-show and live-action lineup. It opened in 1990 and closed in 2005. The soundstage still stands at Universal, and most of what happened inside left in cardboard boxes.

A few of those boxes look like they are opening on eBay.

A seller running the store Beyond Detail has posted a run of original Nickelodeon Studios paperwork, the kind of thing that almost never reaches the public. These are not the usual photos and souvenirs. They are production blueprints and stage floor plans from the studio itself. The fans who spotted the listings say the seller worked at Nickelodeon Studios, and the paperwork reads like inside material.

What is actually for sale

The listings are dated, specific, and the sort of document that used to live in a production office. A few that stand out.

Item Details
1993 Nickelodeon Studios Stage 18 pilot production blueprint listed around $599
GUTS III stage blueprint and floor plan, 1994 the race track and Aggro Crag layout
1992 Nickelodeon at Alton Towers design blueprint a proposed Nickelodeon area for the UK park

The GUTS floor plan is the one that will stop people mid-scroll. GUTS was the Nickelodeon competition show with the glowing Aggro Crag at the end, and a 1994 plan of that stage is a map of one of the most-remembered sets the network ever built. The Alton Towers sheet is the odd one out, a 1992 design for a proposed Nickelodeon zone at the British theme park that never opened the way it looks on paper. Other production paperwork rounds out the listings.

Only the Stage 18 sheet shows a firm number right now, so treat anything here as a snapshot and not a final word.

The studio behind the slime

If you are under thirty, this may read like a fever dream. Nickelodeon Studios was Nickelodeon's home base in Orlando, built inside Universal Studios Florida and opened to the public in 1990. Guests could tour it, watch real tapings, and stand a decent chance of getting slimed on camera. Out front sat a giant slime geyser and a sealed time capsule, packed with kid culture in 1992 and set to open in 2042.

The roster that came through those stages is a 1990s kids-TV hall of fame. Double Dare, GUTS, Legends of the Hidden Temple, Figure It Out, All That, Kenan and Kel. By the mid 2000s Nickelodeon had moved most production west and the tours ended. Blue Man Group ran in the building from 2007 to 2021. Since then the old soundstage has mostly hosted seasonal events like Universal's Grinchmas.

That history is why a stack of internal blueprints matters. The sets are long gone. The shows live on in reruns and in everyone who still flinches at the words Aggro Crag. The paper that shows how the rooms were actually laid out is one of the few pieces of the place that can still change hands.

Before you bid

A quick reality check, because nostalgia and auction software are a dangerous pair. This is a third-party eBay seller, not Nickelodeon and not Universal, so the prices, the condition grades, and the provenance are the seller's own. Original production blueprints can be genuinely rare, and they can also be hard to authenticate from a phone at midnight. Read each listing closely and set your limit before you talk yourself into it.

If the documents are what they look like, this is a rare chance to own a literal blueprint of where a chunk of 1990s childhood was filmed. If you just want to look, the photos alone are a nice trip back to a studio that does not exist anymore.
