    Donald hosts a safari buffet in Harambe, Mickey shows up in safari gear too, and the food leans African and Indian instead of steam table American. Breakfast is $53 per adult and lunch or dinner is $64 ($38 and $43 for kids 3 to 9). Simba waffles share the breakfast line with Mickey waffles.

    The park's Starbucks, on the walk from Discovery Island toward Africa, and the first coffee most people pass. Disney says flat white sales support the Disney Conservation Fund's work for cotton-top tamarins. Get coffee before the safari, the morning line only grows.

Good to know before you eat at Animal Kingdom

DinoLand is gone, Tropical Americas is next

DinoLand USA closed for good after February 1, 2026, and Restaurantosaurus closed with it. Its replacement, Tropical Americas, is under construction with a large hacienda quick service restaurant planned, and Disney's official site no longer lists an opening year. Until it opens, the closest meals to that corner are Flame Tree Barbecue and Eight Spoon Cafe on Discovery Island.

Harambe Market is back with a new menu

Harambe Market closed for a refresh in October 2025 and reopened in February 2026 with burgers, chicken strips, a wrap and a salad in place of the rice bowls. The Tanzanian meat pie joined the menu in June 2026. The rice bowls now live at Kusafiri Coffee Shop & Bakery next door.

Book the sit-down meals

Tiffins, Tusker House, Yak & Yeti and Nomad Lounge all take reservations, and Disney opens dining reservations 60 days ahead at 6 AM Eastern. Disney charges a per person fee for no-shows and late cancellations, so cancel early if plans change.

Eat dinner early

Several big counters stop serving well before the park closes. Harambe Market and Pizzafari were posted to close in the late afternoon in early November, and The Smiling Crocodile and Eight Spoon Cafe keep midday hours, so plan dinner around Flame Tree Barbecue, Satu'li Canteen or a table reservation.
